Step 1: Initial Requirements/Issues Profiling
Get to know the team and facilities, then administer a series of questionnaires and conduct interviews.
The questionnaire and interview sessions lead to discovery of important issues that might have otherwise been overlooked.
Getting your management team involved and working together, from the beginning, insures that all functional areas have
a voice in the needs of the company with regard to the software.
Step 2: Developing the Short List of Options/Solutions
Help you establish a list of high-level differentiators including both quantitative and qualitative factors.
Narrow the field to those that will be scheduled for detailed demonstrations.
The development of high-level differentiators at this step helps narrow the field of candidates, and determine
what functionality you'll expect to see demonstrated.
Since we are not affiliated with any vendor or software product, there is no bias.
Step 3: Final Selection
Demonstrations are arranged and conducted, negotiations take place, and the final selection is made.
You control the demonstration process and ask questions regarding critical issues.
Aim to identify the gaps present in any candidate solution
Step 4: Implementation Planning
Plan the implementation, whether that be planning to write new software or working with a vendor for the installation of a shrink-wrap package.
Resolve known issues and decide what capabilities of the software will not be immediately implemented
